Organic Farming Workshop

At Gandhi Nidhi Chhatarpur, we are committed to preserving and reviving traditional farming practices through our engaging five-day workshops focused on organic farming. These workshops provide participants with hands-on experience in sustainable agricultural techniques that align with the principles of Mahatma Gandhi.

Discovering Organic Farming Practices

Our workshops cover a range of essential topics that promote ecological balance and sustainable farming methods, including:

⦁ Hedge Farming: Participants learn about the benefits of hedge farming, which enhances biodiversity and soil health while providing natural barriers against pests.
⦁ Jeev-Amrut: We teach the preparation and application of Jeev-Amrut, a natural microbial solution that enriches soil fertility and promotes healthy plant growth.
⦁ Herbal Pest Control: Participants explore traditional methods of pest management using herbal remedies, reducing the need for chemical pesticides and fostering a healthier ecosystem.
⦁ Organic Compost Making: We teach different methods of compost making and their respective pros and cons.
⦁ Seed-bank: We provide farmers with indigenous seeds nad how to select seeds for the next crop and preserve them.

Hands-On Learning Experience

During the workshop, participants will visit our farm to observe and practice these techniques in real-world settings. This immersive approach allows them to gain practical knowledge that can be applied to their own agricultural practices.

Aligning with Gandhian Values

Mahatma Gandhi emphasised the importance of self-sufficiency and sustainable living. Our workshops embody these values by empowering individuals to reconnect with traditional farming methods that are not only environmentally friendly but also economically viable. By promoting organic farming, we aim to foster a sense of responsibility towards nature and encourage sustainable food production practices.

The Importance of Traditional Farming

Traditional farming practices have been integral to India's agricultural heritage, offering sustainable solutions that enhance food security while preserving biodiversity. By reviving these methods, we contribute to a more resilient agricultural system that respects natural ecosystems.

At Gandhi Nidhi Chhatarpur, our dedication to preserving traditional farming practices through organic farming workshops reflects Mahatma Gandhi's vision for sustainable living. By equipping participants with knowledge about hedge farming, Jeev-Amrut, and herbal pest control, we empower them to embrace eco-friendly agricultural practices. Together, we can honour Gandhi's legacy by fostering a future where traditional knowledge thrives alongside modern advancements, promoting a harmonious relationship with our environment.
